The 18th International Workshop on Human-Friendly Robotics (HFR 2025) will be organized ON Capri Island, (Italy) at Centro Congressi Paradiso, on June 15–16, 2025
We are witnessing more and more applications carried out by robots in close collaboration with humans. This new generation of human-friendly robots will need to be safe and trustworthy in a physical and cognitive sense. New paradigms for the holistic development of collaborative cognitive robots need to be envisioned and experimentally validated. The benefit of humans and society is the central objective of such research effort and existing opportunities are arising from different application domains such as healthcare and high-tech systems.
HFR 2025 is a single-track symposium that aims at bringing together academic scientists, researchers, and industry to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects related to the introduction of robots into everyday life. The workshop covers a wide range of topics related to human–robot interaction, both physical and cognitive, including theories, methodologies, technologies, and empirical and experimental studies.
We strongly encourage women and young researchers’ participation, to support gender balance in robotics and the promotion of early–career researchers to present themselves to the community.

Submission Guidelines
We invite two types of submission for review:
- Regular papers (maximum 8-pages, references included): Original research contributions, previously unpublished, advancing the state-of-the-art in Human-Friendly Robotics.
- 2-pages extended abstracts (references included)
*Submitted extended asbtract can be considered for poster or oral presentation
*Accepted regular papers will be presented orally during the HFR2025 workshop and could be selected, following a peer-review process, for special issues in “Frontiers in Robotics and AI” and “Robotics and Autonomous Systems“
Deadline submission for the Special Issues: June 30, 2025
All the accepted contributions will be included in the HFR2025 online proceedings book.
Completed papers and abstracts should be submitted as a pdf-file using the following e-mail address: chair@hfr2025.eu
The authors’ guidelines for the preparation of contributions come with the shared templates.
- A template can be downloaded here (docx, pdf, or Latex).
- A template for Regular Paper can be downloaded here (Latex).
- A template for pitch presentation can be downloaded HERE
